TiviMate setup guide.
TiviMate is the most popular IPTV player on Android TV and Fire TV for good reason: clean remote navigation, proper EPG grid, and hardware acceleration that actually works. Here is the full configuration path.

Install TiviMate.
On Fire TV: search the Amazon Appstore for TiviMate. It should appear in most regions. Install from there.
On Android TV or Google TV: search the Play Store for TiviMate IPTV Player. The Play Store version and the APK version are functionally identical. Play Store is preferred because updates come automatically.
If TiviMate is not available in your region's Appstore, use Downloader. See the Firestick guide or Android TV guide for the sideload path. Download the APK only from tivimate.com.

Add a playlist.

Open TiviMate and tap Add playlist
On first launch, TiviMate walks you through adding a playlist. You can also add later via Settings → Playlists → + button.

Choose Xtream Codes or M3U URL
Xtream Codes: enter the server URL (include the port, e.g. http://server.com:8080), then username and password. M3U: paste the full M3U URL from your provider.

Name the playlist
Give it a recognizable name like "Gloam" or your provider name. This matters more if you add multiple playlists (Premium feature).

Wait for channel load
TiviMate downloads the channel list and categories. First load may take 30-120 seconds on a large playlist. Progress shows in the corner.

Verify categories loaded
Check the left sidebar. You should see All Channels, Live TV, Movies, Series, and your provider's custom groups. If categories are empty, the playlist may be malformed; contact your provider.

Configure EPG.

Open Settings → Playlists → your playlist
Select the playlist you added. Look for EPG settings within the playlist configuration, not the top-level settings menu.

Paste your EPG URL
Your provider gives you an EPG URL alongside the M3U or Xtream credentials. It usually ends in .xml or /xmltv. Paste it exactly.

Force update
Tap Force update EPG or Refresh EPG. TiviMate downloads the XMLTV file and maps schedule data to channels. This takes 2-10 minutes on a full 7-day guide.

Check the EPG grid
Press the Guide button on your remote (or the grid icon in the app). You should see channel names with schedule bars. If channels show but no schedule, the channel IDs may not match. Contact your provider.

Hardware acceleration.
Settings → Player → Decoder → Hardware Acceleration. Set to On.
This routes compatible video streams to the device's hardware video decoder chip. On Fire TV Stick 4K and Android TV boxes, this makes a noticeable difference on HD and 4K streams. The CPU handles other tasks instead of decoding every frame in software.
If a specific channel freezes with hardware on but works with it off, that channel's stream uses a codec the hardware decoder does not support (common with some H.265 10-bit streams on older devices). Try Auto instead of On for those cases.

Is TiviMate free?
TiviMate has a free tier that supports one playlist and basic features. TiviMate Premium unlocks multiple playlists, recording to USB, parental controls, and the full EPG grid layout. Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Where do I get the TiviMate APK?
From the Amazon Appstore (search TiviMate), the Google Play Store (on Android TV devices), or from tivimate.com directly for the APK. Never from a random APK mirror site.
What is the best EPG URL format for TiviMate?
XMLTV over HTTP or HTTPS. Your provider will give you a URL. Paste it exactly in Settings → Playlists → your playlist → EPG. Include http:// or https:// in the URL.
TiviMate is buffering. What do I check first?
Check hardware acceleration (Settings → Player → Hardware Acceleration → On). Check your network speed on the device itself. Try a different stream in the same app to isolate if it is one channel or all channels. See the troubleshooting guide for more.
Can I record with TiviMate?
Yes, with TiviMate Premium and a USB drive connected to your Firestick or Android TV device. Go to Settings → Recording → set the storage path to your USB drive. Recording schedules from the EPG grid.
